A list of the top 10 advantages for children of luxury hotels may seem strange at first glance. Are 5-star hotels not for couples, but for children and families? Think again of some of the most luxurious hotels you can imagine now offering child-friendly services and amenities that help make it a real vacation for mom and dad, not just a “change of scenery”. “In fact, I have found that the more luxurious the hotel is, the more personalized and child-friendly the facilities are. Here is our overview of some of our favorite benefits for kids and family luxury hotels.

1. Free Kids Club

Your best chance to relax is when your kids can make new friends and have fun. Usually you expect to pay for the privilege of a well-run children’s club, but the Four Seasons Kids for All Seasons program, which is available at the resorts, is free for guests. My son loved the Kids for all Seasons program at the Four Seasons Bali in Jimbaran Bay and didn’t want to go! Other Kids for all Seasons programs that garner rave reviews include the Four Seasons Koh Samui and The Four Seasons Hawaii in Hualalai.

2. Clean beach and sea

A large, clean beach and the sea (hopefully warm!) can be one of the best child-friendly aspects of the luxury Resort. This can be a real challenge in the popular destinations of the mass market, so look for a secluded luxury resort if you care how the beach and sea are untouched and unpolluted for your children. The Park Hyatt Maldives is mainly for couples but the staff was friendly with children and the beach and sea were just beautiful.

3. Children eat free (and good)

Do you have children who suffer from hunger? You will be glad to know that when you book a Club level room at the Ritz-Carlton, children under 12 years of age staying in their parents ‘ room are entitled to free access to the Club lounge, with its 4-5 presentations of food and drinks every day. Most other club lounges also offer free access for children, but be careful: some, usually stand-alone or more boutique-like properties, do not allow children in their club lounge at all. Then check this before booking.

Even if you don’t stay at the club level, resorts such as The Four Seasons Maui in Wailea offer free meals for children under 5 at the resort’s Ferraro’s and DUO restaurants if accompanied by a paying young.

4. Free baking course (aka let them bake cakes!)

Kids learn while doing this, and what’s more fun than learning how to make your favorite treats behind the scenes with the hotel pastry chefs? Below is our son having fun preparing mini madeleines at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris. Well, if only children could successfully reproduce these exquisite treats at home…

5. Delicious welcome treats

Do you see a trend here? The path to the hearts of many children also goes through food, including delicious and quirky welcome treats that are just right for him. For example, in the photo below are welcome treats from the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco, with a cable car full of candy, fresh berries and chocolate cookies. The plate was even decorated with my son’s name written in chocolate.

6. Stuffed animal

You may not be able to bring your child’s entire plush toy menagerie while traveling, but most of the most luxurious hotels present your child with a new plush friend, either at check-in or waiting for him in the room. Here is a plush ladybug from The Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris, a famous celebrity hideaway on the Champs-Elysées, but also wonderfully suited for children.

7. Children’s pool or opening hours for children

One of the biggest sources of friction in hotels with pool is between childless young and newlyweds compared to families with children. A dedicated children’s pool or lessons for children solves this problem well and allows everyone to enjoy the time at the pool. The Four Seasons Hualalai is amazing in this regard, with not only a Keiki (children’s) pool for young children, with a white sand bottom, but also the Sea Shell Pool as a family pool for older children and their parents, and King’s Pond, an aquarium carved out of lava rocks with more than 3000 tropical fish and a spotted eagle ray, where children and parents can snorkel, watch fish dinners and enjoy exploring the Touch reservoir. In addition, there are four more pools, including young-only pools and a pool for swimming in length so everyone is happy!

8. Children’s bathrobe and slippers

Children love to feel grown up, and their own bathrobe and bath shoes in children’s size make them just as special and appreciated as a guest as mom and dad. In addition, you can even use the slippers with them as a souvenir and at home. Everything comfortable in your own bathrobe at the Four Seasons Seattle.

9. Return from the tower of the house

If your child is something like mine, he or she always tries to understand how things work and find secret and hidden spaces that you probably shouldn’t be. Well, the Four Seasons Paris has understood all children, and actually offers a tour from the back of the house specifically for children to discover the hidden doors of the hotel, elevators and secret passages. Just ask the caretaker of the children, to help him organize it!

10. Foaming

Which child (and even many young) does not like a bubble bath? Forget bath salts, bubbles are so much more fun for kids! Here is my son enjoying probably his best bubble bath in Amankila, Bali:
